As part of our service to the citizens of Hamilton County, the Clerk of Courts offers opportunities for individuals to intern at the Clerk of Courts Office. These programs offer selected participants exposure to local government and provide positive results for everyone involved including judicial officers, Court administration, staff, volunteers, interns, externs and, finally, our community.
High School Students:
The Clerk of Courts Junior Clerk Program is a summer internship program designed to expose high-school students with an interest in the justice system, court affairs, government or public service to careers in local government. Participants in the Junior Clerk program are assigned to a certain division in the Clerk of Courts Office to assist in the daily operations of the office and will be assigned various tasks and projects. The goal is to educate students on a portion of Hamilton County’s Justice System and provide them with opportunities to build professional skills and experience the work environment.
The Clerk’s Office also offers internships and externships for college students during the Summer, Spring, and Fall. Participants will be assigned to specific divisions in the Clerk of Courts Office to assist in the daily operations and will be assigned various tasks and projects that encourage ownership and project management. Interns will be assigned a focal area based on their interests, competency, skill level, and organizational need, but will also participate in a rotational program to ensure exposure to the totality of business operations and functional areas.
