5         Municipal Criminal and Traffic Offenses

5.1        Waiver and Authorization

If you have not previously entered a guilty or no contest plea in this matter, by selecting the Pay Online Option, I, the defendant, do hereby enter my online plea(s) of guilty to the offense(s) charged in this ticket. I realize that by paying online, I admit my guilt of the offense(s) charged and waive my right to contest the offense(s) in a trial before the court or jury.

Your plea is a complete admission of guilt, waiving your right to an appearance in court or to a trial;

After your online plea and payment is processed, your case will be closed and the Court will forward this information to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, who will add the appropriate points to your license;

If you are unsure of the effect of your plea or wish legal advice, you should consult an attorney before selecting this online payment option.

If you have other court appearances or requirements associated with your case, you must complete those requirements prior to your case being finished with this Court.

5.2        Proof of Insurance

If your citation or ticket indicated that you failed to show proof of insurance you will be notified by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles that your license will be suspended unless you send proof of insurance for the date of the offense to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

5.3        License Forfeiture/Suspension

If you have a block or suspension on your license and you wish to expedite this process, you can obtain a release at the Clerk’s Office once payment has been processed and your case is closed.  You must appear in person to receive the release.  You can take the release to one of the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles’ Deputy Registrar offices, along with any costs owed to them, to speed the removal of the block or suspension from your license.
