The Municipal Civil Division of the Clerk of Courts
office handles civil case disputes involving dollar amounts
up to fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00); landlord tenant
disputes, including evictions and rent escrows; collection of
judgments via garnishments; debtor trusteeships and appeals
to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles for 12-point driving suspensions.
The Small Claims page provides
complete information about how to file a Small Claims suit and
to collect payment after judgment. Small Claims are civil disputes
involving monetary amounts up to three thousand dollars ($3,000.00).
Disputes involving dollar amounts larger than $15,000 or title
to real estate are handled in the Common Pleas Court.
